Israel planned for Lebanon war months in advance

Preparations for Israel's war in Lebanon last summer were drawn up at least four months before two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped by Hizbullah in July, Ehud Olmert, the prime minister, has admitted.

This is what is interesting about following a story. You get to know the truth eventually. It is a pity that the first, flawed headline is the only thing people remember. And this takes us back to the Hitler quote I blogged about not so long ago, here.

Patriot Act abused by FBI

So it comes out that the Patriot Act, forced down the throat of Congress without leaving time to congressmen to study it, has been abused by the FBI.
Once again this proves the point that checks and balances are mandatory in any democracy!
And let this be a lesson for anyone willing to surrender freedom for so called security reasons.
